Your photos and measurements are yours.

Before you create an account

Your photo is checked for a face and for good light on your phone or computer, and isn’t used to calculate your score. Your score, readings and photo are kept only in this browser tab, so a reload doesn’t lose them. They’re gone when you close the tab, start over, or after 24 hours.

To write your AI summary, your readings, score and photo are sent to an AI model, which describes what’s visible in your face and suggests next steps. It never gets your name or email, and nothing is kept unless you save your result to an account.

If you choose to see your potential progress, your photo is checked by an AI model, which also writes a short description of what’s visible in it (such as face shape and skin, never anything medical). An AI image model then makes the previews from your photo and that description. The previews come back to this tab, and we don’t keep your photo or them unless you save your result to an account.

When you create an account

We store your photos, readings, scores, AI summaries and any potential progress previews so you can track them over time. For each preview we also keep how it was made: the instructions sent to the image model and which model it was. Photos are kept in private storage and only shown to you, through links that expire within two hours. Nothing is public unless you share it.

Dr. Sean O’Mara and his team may review your check-ins to add a note.

We also store your email address, how you signed in, your email preferences and the consent you gave, with the date and the wording you agreed to.

Research

Your photos and measurements are only used for research or to improve the VFS if you allow it. It’s off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time.

Sharing

When you post a check-in or a potential progress preview to X, we make an image of what you chose and host it, with its two photos, on a public page with a link that’s hard to guess, so X can show it in your post. Anyone with the link can see them, along with your first name if you’ve set one in your account. Your abdominal depth and VFS class are only on it if you choose to show them. Nothing else from your account is. Shared images are deleted after 30 days, or sooner if you delete your account.

Emails

We send sign-in codes and important account notices. Check-in reminders, product updates, research invitations and news are only sent if you choose them, and you can change that in your account.

Deleting your data

Deleting your account permanently deletes your photos, readings, scores, summaries and previews.

Who processes your data

Cloudflare hosts the app and stores your data, sends our emails, and runs the AI models: Anthropic’s Claude for summaries (from your readings and photos) and for describing photos for previews, and OpenAI’s image model for previews. AI requests are not logged or cached by us.
